Who can enter the challenge?

• Who can participate in this challenge?
- Anybody who is a citizen of India can participate in the challenge.

• Do I have to be of a specific age to apply?
- No, there are no minimum age requirements for the challenge. Individuals 18 years of age or younger must have consent from a guardian. We will judge at the time of entry that guardian consent has been received.

• Do I have to be a citizen of India to apply?
- In addition to citizens of India, individuals with PIO / OCI status can also participate in the challenge.

• Do I have to have a certain educational qualification?
- No, this competition is open to all irrespective of their educational qualification, age, professional / amateur status etc.

• Do I have to be a domicile of Karnataka to apply?
- No, anybody residing in any part of the country is eligible to apply.

• I am a design agency, am I eligible to participate in the contest?
- Yes, you can apply. However, this is call for individual contribution. Even if your agency submits, it should be entered under the name of one representative. Therefore, should the entry win, the individual representative will receive the award rather than the entire group.

• Can we participate as a team?
- Yes, you can apply. However, this is call for individual contribution. Even if you work as a team, it should be entered under the name of one representative. Therefore, should the entry win, the individual representative will receive the award rather than the entire group.

How do I enter the challenge?

• When is the last date to apply?
- The last date is 15th August 2022. Late entries will not be entertained.

• Is there any application fees for the challenge?
- No, participation is absolutely free of cost. However, you are responsible for costs associated with the entry such as the internet connection fee etc.

• Can I apply as a team? / Is it possible for a group to submit a single work?
- It is an individual contribution, and we encourage individual participation. Even works submitted by a group will be entered under the name of one representative. Therefore, should the entry win, the individual representative will receive the award rather than the entire group.

• Can I enter under a nickname? I do not want my real name to be made public.
- No, you may not enter under a nickname. Please use your real name when entering. Please be aware that your real name will be displayed among the winners of the contest.

• Can I enter by smartphone or tablet?
- Yes, you enter through the browser on your smartphone or tablet.

• I can't enter. I don't understand how to enter.

What is the prize?

• What is the prize money for the challenge?
- The winner will receive a cash award of Rs. 75000/-; The first runner-up would receive a cash award of Rs. 50,000/- and the second runner-up would receive a cash award of Rs. 25,000/-. We would be giving trophies for other commendable contributions as selected by the jury.

How many winners are there?

• How many winners will be selected?
- There would be three main awards. In addition, we would also have individual excellence awards for the brand name, logo and the taglines. The number of the additional awards would depend on the submissions and jury decision.

How would the winning entry be decided?

• Who would be the judges of the challenges?
- The judges are veterans and experts in the field of branding and marketing. For retaining objectivity of evaluation, the competition, the names of the Jury panel would not be made public.

• How have the judges been chosen?
- Judges have been chosen with consideration to outstanding experience and knowledge in various domains of Branding and marketing.

• Will I be able to receive an evaluation and advice from the judges?
- We cannot provide evaluation or advice for items other than the award-winning works.

• How are the results determined?
- There would be two rounds of evaluation. The entries shortlisted in the first stage would enter the final evaluation where in the final evaluation would be done through earnest discussion among all of the judges together.

• Where and when is the final evaluation held?
- The final evaluation is planned to be conducted in August last week 2022. The location will not be made public.

• Can I know who the judges are?
- For retaining the objectivity of evaluation, the names of the jury panel will not be made public.

• If I win the award, will the prize money and award be sent to me?
- We will contact each prize winner individually regarding award distribution methods.

How many entries can I submit?

• What will happen if I leave part of the entry form blank by mistake?
- The entry form cannot be sent unless all required sections have been completed. Any mandatory sections which have been skipped will be indicated on the screen, so please do not leave any of these sections blank.

• After entering, is it possible to cancel my entry and resubmit another work?
- No, it is not. However, within the entry period, if you do wish to cancel any entry, please contact enablethefarmer@gmail.com for support. However, please be careful as cancellation or submissions cannot be accepted after the entry period has ended.

• Can I submit more than one idea?
- One idea per person is what will be considered. If a person submits more than one idea, we will consider only the idea first submitted by the participant for the contest.

• Do I need to submit all 3 to be a part of the contest?
- Yes, you would have to submit all three to be a part of the competition

• I am a designer and I had created logos for other projects, can I submit the same here?
- No. Previously done work for other clients cannot be submitted. You will have to submit an entry which has not been published or used elsewhere.

What is the expectation for brand name, tagline and logo?

• What is the meaning of a brand name?
- A brand name will be a common name under which the entire produce of Karnataka’s FPO’s will be sold. Most of the packaged products that you buy will have brand names. Some of the famous brand names are Cadburys, Horlicks, Britannia, Tata Salt, Aashirvaad etc. The brand name also will directly communicate to the consumer the values of the products.

• How long can the brand name be?
- The brand name should be easy for consumers to understand and ask for. The brand name for the contest should be less than 20 characters including spaces.

• What language can the brand name be?
- Since it would be a product by Karnataka farmers, it would be preferable for the brand name having roots in Kannada language. However, it is not a rule.

• What is the meaning of Tagline?
- A tagline is a catchy 5-word sentence or a slogan that will clearly communicate the brand’s message and idea. A tag line would be used always with the brand name to give a holistic image of the brand.

• How long can a tagline be?
- The entire tagline should be with in 50 characters including spaces.

• What is the meaning of Logo?
- A logo is an image that truly represents the brand.

• Please tell me the size and format.
- - For the brand name and tagline, it can be entered in Kannada or English.
  - For logo submissions, the file size should be within 10MB.

• Can the submissions be in Kannada?
- Yes, we accept submissions in English and Kannada.

• I don’t know how to check for copyright/trademark violations.
- A how-to manual has been uploaded on this link.

• What will happen if my data is lost or damaged due to an incident during data transmission?
- We recommend that you make sure you have a backup and store your data prior to submission. It would be your responsibility to ensure network connectivity etc during entering of the data.

• Can I submit my logo in pdf format?
- No the logo should be submitted in JPEG or PNG form only.

• I am not able to submit my entry through google form, what should I do ?

How do I know more about the farmers and FPOs?

• What is a Farmer Producer Organisation (FPO)?
- It is one type of PO where the members are farmers. Small Farmers’ Agribusiness Consortium (SFAC) is providing support for promotion of FPOs. PO is a generic name for an organization of producers of any produce, e.g., agricultural, non-farm products, artisan products, etc.

• What is the need of a FPO, how does it help farmers?
- The ultimate aim of a FPO is to enhance farmers competitiveness and increase their advantage in emerging market opportunities. The ownership of the FPO’s rests with farmers and management is done through representatives of the members/farmers, usually comprising of an elected Board of Management/ Board of Directors. A part of the profit earned is shared among the producers and the surplus is ploughed back into FPO’s for business expansion opportunities.

• What are the products that will come under branding?
- The ultimate vision of the program is to cover the entire produce of FPO’s of Karnataka under the umbrella branding and this would be done in a phased manner. The Pulses, Millets, Jowar, Jaggery, Honey, Chillies, turmeric and Pepper would be launched in the first phase. Subsequently more value-added products would be launched. So, the brand name should keep in mind all the possible extensions to the brand.

• What are some of the reference readings for me to understand FPO’s better ?

About the announcement of results and award-winning works

• When will results be available, and how will I know them?
- Award winners ONLY will be notified via an email to their registered email address on or before 15th August 2022. The award winners and the award-winning works are planned to be announced on this website in the last week of August 2022 (planned).

• Have results been announced? Please tell me if I have won an award.
- Award winners will be contacted by email by August last week 2022. Also, award-winning works are planned to be posted on our website by August 2022 (planned). Results will not be handled individually.

• I didn't win an award. Can you let me know why my entry did not win?
- We cannot provide evaluations or comments for individual submitted works. No emails in this regard will be entertained. The Jury's decision will be final.

• I want to know more details about why the winning works were chosen to receive awards.
- We cannot provide any further comment on the works other than what is provided on our website.
